Founded in 1901 as a telephone cooperative serving Hamilton County, Nebraska, we have grown to encompass nine primary divisions providing the latest in communications and technology solutions serving customers nationwide.

Our core commitment of delivering unprecedented personalized customer service together with state-of-the-art telecommunications and information services has led to our continued expansion through the years. Today, we proudly serve millions of people nationwide and provide services on a local, regional and national basis.

Hamilton County Farmers Telephone Association established.

1960’s

• The Nelson family purchases Hamilton (1961)
• Mid-State Community Television founded (1967)

1970’s

Infrastructure upgrade – 99% network underground (1976)

1980’s

• Installs first digital switch (1981)
• Infrastructure upgrade to fiber begins (1983)
• First fiber sonnet ring completed (1985)
• Aurora Telemarketing founded (1986)

1990’s

• Hamilton Relay division founded (1990)
• First relay center opens in Aurora, Nebraska (1994)
• Hamilton Telecommunications branded (1995)
• Hamilton.Net founded (1995)
• Hamilton digital switch upgrade to 2nd generation (1997)
• Hamilton Relay center opens in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (1998)

• Hamilton acquires NetQuest in North Platte, Nebraska (2000)

• Hamilton Relay begins offering Captioned Telephone Service through Ultratec, Inc. (2004)

For more than 120 years, Hamilton has fostered a strong sense of community responsibility and gives generously of its time and resources to promote economic development activities in the communities we serve. We know that when we invest in resources that make our communities stronger, we all benefit. From the volunteer efforts of its employees to strategic planning and business expertise offered by corporate leaders, Hamilton eagerly lends its knowledge, experience and resources to each of the communities we serve.

At Hamilton, we are grateful for the support we receive from our communities and we are honored to invest our resources toward giving back and making these communities great places to live, work and play.

In the past year, we have contributed to more than 114 organizations in our local exchange area, as well as across the country in the communities through volunteer hours, financial contributions or other resources. Below are some of the types of organizations we have been proud to support.
