September 9, 2021, Aurora, Neb. — Hamilton Telecommunications (Hamilton), a telecommunications and technology company based in Aurora, Nebraska, and Nebraska Central Telephone Company and Nebraska Central Telecom, Inc. (collectively NCTC), a provider of broadband, voice and television services based in Gibbon Nebraska, announced today that they have finalized an agreement whereby Hamilton will acquire NCTC in a deal which is expected to close before the end of the year. The purchase will expand the Hamilton suite of technology service offerings to current NCTC customers, and advance both companies’ ongoing fiber-to-the-home broadband projects.
The purchase of NCTC fits directly into Hamilton’s service model and NCTC’s reputation, culture and focus on providing first-class services to its customers aligns with Hamilton’s core principles. “We are looking forward to becoming part of the communities that NCTC has served and continuing NCTC’s longstanding work to help them grow and flourish,” said John Nelson, CEO of Hamilton Telecommunications. “We will work diligently to make this as smooth of a transition as we can for customers and employees. We welcome each one of the NCTC employees as our own and look forward to working with them to continue our mission to deliver the best in technology services, along with personal and trusted care to all of our customers.”
“We have had a longstanding good relationship with Hamilton over the years and are pleased and excited for the opportunities this will bring to our customers, employees, and communities” said Kevin McGregor, President of Nebraska Central Telephone Company. “We are so grateful for the relationships we have built since our inception in 1928 and appreciative for the opportunity we’ve had to connect our residents and communities with telecommunications services.”
Hamilton will bring their existing services to NCTC communities, including Cobalt TV, a digital IPTV service. The company also has plans to complete the Fiber-to-the-Home construction project that NCTC has well underway in the rural areas. When complete, Fiber-to-the-Home Internet will be delivered to 100% of customers in the NCTC and Hamilton exchange communities, delivering the fastest and most reliable Internet and broadband connections directly to their homes.
