Leading Telecommunications Company announces plans to expand its service offerings to deliver critical 911 services.

September 5th, 2017, Aurora, Neb. —Hamilton Telecommunications, a leading telecommunications and technology service provider, is excited to announce that it has recently launched a new business line that will deliver Next Generation 911 (NG911) services. Hamilton NG911, Inc. is the most recent addition to the company’s diverse service offerings and is a reflection of its ongoing investment in continued growth. Hamilton NG911 is seeking and responding to bid opportunities that would allow the company to begin delivering this specialized service for states or regional entities. The company’s robust telecommunications infrastructure; experience in contracted telecommunications services on state and local levels; a wide range of regulatory experience; a broad understanding of accessibility components; and a history of managing reliable networks make the delivery of NG911 services a near-seamless addition to Hamilton service offerings.

“Hamilton has been providing 911 service to its subscribers since its introduction in 1968,” said John Nelson, CEO of Hamilton Telecommunications. “We were involved very early in the provision of Caller ID for 911 services, as well as in the subsequent conversion to E911. In addition, we have become very familiar with 911 agencies and public service organizations across the country through our telecommunications relay and captioned telephone services. We are now ready to take a larger role in the country’s conversion to Next Generation 911.”

Next Generation 911 (NG911) is an IP-based system that allows digital information including voice telephone calls, text messaging, photos, videos and other multi-media messages from the public to reach local Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPS) through the 911 network. For more than four decades, the 911 system has essentially remained the same. While there have been enhancements to accommodate cell phones, location tracking and most recently, texting, rapidly changing technology makes it difficult for the new system to stay current. Next Generation 911 would transition 911 to a more scalable, IP-based system that will allow the service to keep up with the everchanging pace of technology. NG911 will also provide Public Safety Answering Points with the most accurate information about the emergency situation, allowing them to do
their job more efficiently, respond faster, and save lives.

“We understand how important this service is to the people who rely on it in the worst of times,” Nelson said. “We believe we are well-positioned to help make it better.” Hamilton Telecommunications is a diversified telecommunications and technology services provider based in Aurora, Neb.
